A weekly newsletter from a 13 year old trying to balance school, parents, activities & the world…and of course, homework. An honest description of how I see the world.
~3 on School~ MERRY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS!🎄
My friend who moved to america came back for a few days, so yesterday we had a sleepover! It was really fun <3. When we finally stopped talking we started playing Cluedo, a murder mystery game, she realised the answer really fast! Too fast. So we dissasembled everything and realised that we had double of the same cards!🤣
After dinner we snuggled into blankets and with hot chocolate, we watched a really good movie called The Fault in our Stars. It was amazing!! My friends kept making the funniest comments during the movie and it was a remarkable!
We finally decided to sleep at 2 am (so early, I know) just so we could wake up early for christmas presents! So we switched of the lights and got into bed, but when it was all silent, we started laughing so much that our plan didn’t work! We ended up going to sleep at 3 am😊😊!
~2 on Family~Opening Presents!
When we woke up, we were all so excited to open our christmas presents. So we all sat by the tree and it was such a pleasant feeling! After gushing over all of our presents, we had pancackes for breakfast! It was literally heaven.
After my friends left, we went for christmas lunch at this awesome restaurant in Raffles Hotel called Tiffin Room. Their butter chicken is to die for! Then “Santa” came to our table and gave us candy so it was super fun!
~1 on World~ Taliban bans women from working
Top officials from the UN and dozens of NGO staff went to visit the Taliban over discussions on women in employment. This was after the Taliban ordered all NGO’s to ban women from working. They are threatening to suspend their working license if they don’t follow these rules. "A meeting of Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) is scheduled later today to consult and discuss how to tackle this issue," Tapiwa Gomo, public information officer for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, told AFP.
~SONG OF THE WEEK~
August By Taylor Swift. I’ve been obsessed with her Folklore album lately, and this song is amazing!!
~FACT OF THE WEEK~
The size of your social circle is related to the size of your brain. A scientist at Oxford discovered that the size of a person's "orbitomedial prefrontal cortex" (the part of a brain that identifies other people's moods and personalities) can predict the size of that person's social circle. The average prefrontal cortex averages out to around 147.8 friends in a social network. That’s really interesting and cool!
