~3 on School’s OVER!!!~ Water guns & Worries
My summer holidays started this week, we had our last day on Thursday!!👍😄 There’s this tradition in our school (for primary school), that on the last day, all the teachers come to the kids pickup area and while everyone is going out from bus or car, either way, the teachers all shout out encouraging things and (the best part)……🔫THEY SPRAY US WITH WATER GUNS!!!🔫 I always ask my mom to pull down the windows so when they spray, 💦 and I can feel the water💦 :)
On the last day, there’s also another tradition (and you have every right to think, wow geez so many traditions!) The tradition is that the primary school would gather in a hall, and for the end of year, the teachers would do a SUPER embarrassing dance! But because of covid, these dances have become videos. The only good thing about that, is we can save and re-play the videos again and again!
Since everyone (obviously) knew that the last day of school was on Thursday, on Thursday, all anyone could do was be like “OMG I’m going to miss you so much!” or “Augh we won’t see each other for so long😖!” They were all so worried! I thought why? The holidays should give you even more time too spend with your friends!! But apparently there was one person who was completely ignoring all these comments when that person said, “See you guys at school next week!”
~2 on Family ~ HAPPY FATHERS DAY!❤️!❤️!❤️!
IT’S FATHERS DAY!!! Hope everyone’s having fun with their family!❤️! In the morning, I woke up to my brother in my face saying “It’s Fathers Day get up get up!” So then we snuck out and surprised my Dad with out gifts! Then my family and I went downstairs to play in the pool for an hour! Then we watched a new movie called Luca and the latest episode of Loki! And pizza for lunch!! It’s been really fun!!😁🙂👍
The movie Luca, is SO GOOD! It’s about the “sea monster” boy, who lives in the sea and has never been above to the surface. Then one day he meets this other boy who convinces him to stay above the surface! The movie is about his adventure in the outside world, where he has never been! It’s a very thrilling and interesting movie and people of all ages can watch it!😄
~1 on World~ A Grappling Gymnast
The 20-year-old gymnast, Tan Sze En, who’s a student at Stanford University in the US, has seen injuries to these parts of her body and more as she developed her career as a top-class competitor. A fractured heel in 2017, a torn rotator cuff in 2018, a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament in 2019. Three consecutive surgeries on her wrists in 2020. But she still kept fighting.
And thanks to this spirit, she can soon add the word "Olympian" to her resume.
But less than a week before the start of the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia where she had been scheduled to compete, Tan sustained an injury while dismounting from a balance beam. She would eventually feature at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, but had to undergo shoulder surgery immediately after the event to fix a torn rotator cuff and labrum. “It was scary, but my shoulder was pretty bad. It was affecting my everyday life," she recalled. Tan has had multiple injuries over the course of her career, some major ones, yet she still kept going. That’s determination for you.
~SONG OF THE WEEK~
Treat You Better By Shawn Mendes! The chorus is just really catchy!
~FACT OF THE WEEK~
The abbreviation “OMG!” usage can be traced back to 1917. One of the earliest uses—perhaps the earliest use—of "OMG" appeared in a letter to the then-member of Parliament. In 1917, a British Navy Admiral wrote to Winston Churchill about rumours of new titles that would soon be granted. "I hear that a new order of Knighthood is on the tapis," he wrote. "O.M.G. (Oh! My God!)—Shower it on the Admiralty!" OMG, indeed!!😯🤣😄 I was so shocked when I read that, it’s so early in history!!
